visualization
Visualization of clinical data that is available from multiple points in the network can be accomplished with two possible approaches: implementing the CareEvolution Clinical Data Viewer (CDV); or, integrating with existing clinical data sources. RHIO-specific capabilities and workflow requirements will drive an implementation-specific solution.

CareEvolution Clinical Data Viewer (CDV)
Clinical Data View is a standalone web application that provides user authentication, patient selection, and review of all clinical data that is available from CareEvolution Adapters throughout the RHIO. CDV shares user and patient context with other clinical applications in order to tightly integrate with other clinical applications in the enterprise and ensure a seamless user experience.

Integration with Existing Clinical Data Sources
The CareEvolution Adapter can feed existing clinical repositories within the enterprise with data from other institutions using HL7 2.x. This permits users to review data from other sites using their existing suite of UI applications. A solution of this nature potentially creates substantive issues around data ownership; a careful review of the needs and capabilities of each organization will determine the feasibility of this approach.
